Carolina Sanchez Doñas, PhD

Carolina Sanchez is a Ph.D. in Biotechnology from Chile. She has studied with Sifu Justin Meehan since February 2007. She has also taken classes with Sifu Justin's Sifu, Master Zhang Xue-Xin, senior disciple of Grand Master Feng Zhiqiang. She has competed successfully in several national Chinese Kung Fu Wu Shu tournaments in USA. In May of 2008, she participated in the 10th Annual Orlando Kung Fu Championship where she won Silver and Bronze Medals in Chen- and free-style Taiji Form competitions, respectively. In 2009, she won three medals at the Kung Fu Legends Tournament in Dallas, TX: one gold medal in Intermediate Form Competition Other Style Taiji (Hun Yuan), 2nd place Intermediate Chen Style form competition, and 2nd place Women's Sword Competition. In 2010, she competed in the 21st Shorin Ryn Pro-Am Karate Tournament where she won 2nd places in Chen Style Taiji Advance Form and in Other Style Taiji Advanced Form, and 1st place in Taiji Straight Sword Advanced. In August of 2010, Carolina participated in national AAU tournament were she got 1st place in Tai Chi - Chen Division Advanced Women, 3rd place in Tai Chi - Open Division Advanced and 2nd place in Tai Chi Weapon - Straight Sword Division Advanced.

Her passion for Hun Yuan Taiji and Qigong is ongoing and she recently started to share her acquired knowledge with others. Carolina taught as a Therapeutic Tai Chi instructor in David C. Pratt Cancer Center (St. John's Mercy Hospital) and Brentwood Center of Health. She is a recognized instructor in the Therapeutic Tai Chi for Health Program. In addition, she assists Sifu Justin in teaching Hun Yuan Taiji/Qigong Beginner and Intermediate level classes. Her devotion to this martial art and her continuous interest in spreading its benefits led her to share this knowledge with the Spanish-speaking community at Saint Cecilia Parish in Saint Louis, Missouri.

Carolina Sanchez passed her Level II teaching certification and became a formal Hun Yuan disciple of Sifu Justin Meehan in August 2011 (4 ½ years after studying with him both publicly and privately). She has attained her teaching certification through the Chinese Internal Arts Center by its President J. Justin Meehan and the Feng Zhiqiang USA Hun Yuan Taiji/Qigong Association under her Sifu Justin Meehan with permission of Association President, Master Zhang Xue Xin. She will travel to Beijing, China this October, 2011 to attend the 3rd International Hun Yuan Taijiquan Conference to compete and study with Grand Master Feng Zhiqiang and his daughter Xiuqian.

As a level II Instructor, Carolina Sanchez is authorized by Sifu Justin Meehan to teach Hun Yuan Chen 24 form and 32 Cannon Fist, 24 simplified straight sword, 12 basic Chan Ssu Chin, Hun Yuan basic 12 Qigong, Peng, Lu, Gee An moving sequence, Qigong, basic single and double hand Push hands exercises, Da Liu routine, basic Hun Yuan theory, Practical Taoism, and Therapeutic Simplified Taiji for Health. She is authorized to open a branch school of the Chinese Internal Arts Association and Feng Zhiqiang HunYuan Association in Santiago, Chile, SA, under the direction of her her Sifu J. Justin Meehan and his Sifu, Master Zhang Xue Xin. She will return regularly to St. Louis to continue her training.
